Gazprom halves Yamal–Europe gas pumping in wake of fire
MOSCOW/YEKATERINBURG, Aug 6 (PRIME) -- Gazprom halved gas pumping via the Yamal–Europe gas pipeline on Thursday evening in the wake of a fire on a plant of the company, German transport operator Gascade said late on Thursday.
During the day, pumping at the entrance to the German pipeline amounted to 1.9–2.1 million cubic meters per hour, but after 6:00 p.m., Moscow time, it fell to about 1 million cubic meters per hour.
A building at a condensate preparation facility near Novy Urengoi caught fire on Wednesday in the evening. An official at the regional Emergency Ministry office said that the fire was extinguished as of 6:00 a.m., Moscow time on Friday.
